My name is Paul Growney welcome to Third Sector Sensei. Third Sector Sensei is something I have started up to provide one to one support to Third Sector leaders with the aim of improving leadership within the third sector. I have been in the third sector now for my entire career and have been employed in senior leadership roles now for over a decade. I have also obtained a degree, MBA, Companion status of Chartered Management Institute and currently completing my Doctorate focusing on third sector.
At present I am the CEO of Northwest Charity supporting over 500 individuals per day and managing multiple contracts / 200+ staffs. I live and breathe the third sector and have experienced the ups and downs with this volatile sector. I have been a volunteer, third sector project manager, CEO of a CVS, a service provider, board member and chair. I know how tough this sector is and the impact both professionally and personally it has! Being a leader in this sector is hard and often lonely, the aim of my services is trying first and foremost provide support for your workplace challenges and then a place where you can open up / speak freely.
In terms of some example areas of discussion: Sustainable business model (Personally I think is key to budding social entrepreneurs) / Sustainable project development / Social Investment vs Grant Funding / Community needs analysis / Managing Personal wellbeing / Stakeholder Management / Staff / Promotion on a budget Expectations vs Reality.
Most importantly we are all in this sector as we want to do something good, make something better, help people in need and the primary aim of this service is to help you do this better!
